EXPANDED NEAL MEMBERSHIP PATHWAYS

At its 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM), the Network of Effective African Leaders (NEAL) expanded its membership pathways to accommodate aspiring ethical African leaders, home and abroad. The expanded membership pathways also allow aspiring ethical African leaders that have participated in CSAAE/NEAL leadership programs in the past to become full members of NEAL.

Please read carefully and follow the path that applies to you.

Individuals who attended any Foundation Conference organized by CSAAE between 2013 and 2023 but were not inducted into NEAL can join NEAL by meeting the following requirements:

  • Written expression of interest to join NEAL
  • ⁠Proof of Foundation Conference attendance (certificate, record, or reference).
  • Completion of NEAL online orientation
  • Payment of NEAL special one-time good will fee

Individuals who attended any of CSAAE’s Foundation Conference, participated in the ENLP, ELP or NEAL programs between 2013 and 2023 but were never inducted into NEAL can join NEAL by meeting the following requirements:

  • Written expression of interest to join NEAL
  • Proof of participation in ENLP, ELP or NEAL program
  • Completion of NEAL online orientation
  • Payment of NEAL special one-time good will fee

Individuals who were inducted into NEAL but for some reasons dropped out of NEAL can rejoin NEAL by meeting the following requirements

  • Written request for reinstatement
  • Proof of prior induction
  • Payment of outstanding dues

Individuals who attended any Foundation Conference organized by CSAAE between 2013 and 2024, participated in IYC or IYP programs but either dropped out or failed to qualify for admission into NEAL can join NEAL by meeting the following requirements

  • Written expression of interest to join NEAL
  • Proof of IYP or IYC participation
  • Completion of NEAL online orientation
  • Payment of NEAL special one-time good will fee

Individuals who completed the IYC or IYP, qualified to join NEAL but have not been inducted can join NEAL by meeting the following requirements:

  1. NEAL membership admission notice
  2. Payment of NEAL standard one-time good will fee

Next Steps:

  • Individuals that fall into any of the above five pathways must send the required documents via email to: neal@csaaeinc.org
  • Once these requirements are received, candidate (where applicable) will be given access to NEAL online orientation.
  • Upon completion of the online orientation, candidate will be given the opportunity to choose a NEAL council.
  • Candidate will then be inducted into NEAL at the next in-person meeting of the council.

Individuals that do not fit into any of the above categories but wish to join NEAL and are between the ages of 18 and 35 can join NEAL by applying for the IYP program. Click here to apply for the 2026 IYP program: JOIN NEAL

Minors interested in joining NEAL can avoid the IYP by joining NEAL academy in high school.

Honorary members are individuals (non-NEAL members) recognized for embodying NEAL values; nominated by Executive Members. They may serve as:

  • Council, state, national, continental and global advisers
  • Patrons or matrons.
